A professor asked me today, “How to spread positivity? I said, “A fictional or mythological story of positivity is good for momentary healing in depressing times. But the act of compassion, gratitude & kindness makes a real positive story that is long-lasting.”

NO excuse for the increase in child labour during 4 pre-pandemic years. I call upon every organisation & individual who believes in freedom & dignity of children, please leave behind all differences. Let’s reinvigorate a worldwide mass movement as we did in 1998 Global March.

Being with these kids brings a true feeling of freedom inside & outside. Their parents were rescued from slavery several years ago.

Someone asked me about future challenges. I said, “Perhaps the most significant challenge ahead is how to protect the free will of human minds against the influence of computer algorithms aligned with politics and the market.”

There is more than enough wealth in the world for every child to go to school instead of having to work to survive. The question is how we choose to share that wealth, and with whom.

Doctors & health workers have proven themselves as real heroes in this crisis. They were co-sufferers with patients & families. But we have seen a collapse of our health infrastructure. This is time to make health a fundamental right to ensure better medical care. #ETDoctorsDay

Proud of my son Surjeet for receiving Princess Diana Award from the UK. Such examples strengthen my firm belief that every child is born with unlimited possibilities. Trusting & giving them a chance will be your best contribution in making a better world.

This is how my colleagues successfully rescued a boy from a moving train. Shaabash! my friends at @BBAIndia  and GRP. Every child matters, every minute matters.

Child trafficking seems at an all time high as a result of the pandemic. In a night-long operation, my @BBAIndia  colleagues rescued 23 children in Bhopal,14 in Vijayawada &13 in Kolkata from railway stations with the help of GRP & RPF. Thanks dear @PiyushGoyal  ji & @RailwaySeva

Happy to see @MinistryWCD  & @smritiirani  ji bring a robust anti-trafficking bill that aims at Prevention, rehabilitation &combatting this organized crime. I call upon all MPs to join hands & pass the bill in this session itself as our children cannot wait #isupporttraffickingbill

Today, my son Amar Lal stood in the court for a 17 yrs old rape survivor. It is our proudest moment as parents of this bright young lawyer who we rescued from inter-generational slavery at the age of 5. He stayed at Bal Ashram until he completed his education. Way to go!

50 years ago I at the age of 15, organised a feast on Gandhi Centenary. Town leaders were invited to eat food cooked by Dalits(considered untouchables). No one turned up. Brahmin priests outcasted me. In revolt I dropped my family name & changed it to ‘Satyarthi’. #GandhiJayanti

What is happening to our daughters is a matter of national shame. I humbly appeal to Hon’ble PM @narendramodi  - the nation looks to you to end this crisis of justice for our women & children. I implore you to lead the war on rape. Our daughters need you and we are all with you.

Had a fruitful discussion with dear brother @mkstalin  ji. I am confident under your able leadership no child will be left behind. I extend my complete support towards making Tamil Nadu, a child friendly state. Congratulations once again!

A boy in the 4th grade asked me- "How can I tackle failure?" I replied- I haven’t met anyone who never failed. Broaden your horizon & learn to celebrate even the smallest success, then failure shall never influence you. Addressed thousands of children on Dream Big Talks today!

Deeply devastated by the death of a migrant worker mother whose toddler child was trying to wake her up, my daughter Asmita Satyarthi penned down her emotions in this poem and my daughter-in-law Priyanka drew the artwork. We can’t let our India down!

Can we leave our children behind when moving forward? Then how can we leave 160 million children in child labour? Whose children are they? They are all our children! #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour
