On the eve of his inauguration, President-elect Joe Biden led a national mourning for the 400,000 Americans who have died from the coronavirus.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell addressed the January 6 attack on the Capitol, saying "the mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people."

God bless Donald Trump & his family. May God protect them and our great nation. Our work saving our nation remains the same and I look forward to pushing ahead, shoulder to shoulder, w all of you US 👊 #onward  #KAG  #GodBlessAmerica

Trump finalizing pardons list on eve of Biden inauguration

Scoops of the Day

My thinking on the Assange pardon is very simple: setting aside all else, Trump will either be remembered as the first President since JFK who from his first to last day in office was hated by the NSA, CIA, and FBI, or as the one who caved to pressure at the very last moment.

JUST IN: Sen. McConnell on US Capitol insurrection: "The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people, and they tried to use fear and violence to stop a specific proceeding of the first branch of the federal government which they did not like."

You did a lot of good for this country, President Trump. I just wish We the People could've done our part to give you four more years. God bless you, sir, and thank you.

"Let us shine the lights in the darkness along the sacred pool of reflection and remember who we lost," Pres.-elect Joe Biden says in solemn moment at lighting ceremony honoring victims of COVID-19.

Trump went four years in office without once saying a critical word about Putin.

Mitch McConnell just now on the Senate floor: "The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people"

Well it was more or less exactly as horrible as we imagined.

TRUMP: "I am especially proud to be the first president in decades who has started no new wars."

Mitch McConnell's shameful attack on our president should disqualify him from leading Senate Republicans.

This is the most offensive thing I've ever heard. No one should ever question the loyalty or professionalism of the Texas National Guard. @TexasGuard  I authorized more than 1,000 to go to DC. I'll never do it again if they are disrespected like this.
