This afternoon, Ontario's Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell gave royal assent to Bill 3 (the strong mayors bill). It is now the last piece of legislation signed into law in Ontario in the Queen's name. Dowdeswell got word of her death just as the ceremony concluded.

Police identify the Toronto police officer who was shot + killed as 48-year-old Const. Andrew Hong (apologies if that is not the correct spelling, we don't have an official release yet). He was a married father of two kids. Police say it was an "ambush."

Few other details on the Milton shooting, just that it happened at a business, one person pronounced dead at the scene, one is in critical condition, one in serious condition.

There are people as far as my eyes can see here at this vigil. A powerful show of support from the London community.

Today is the 1 month anniversary of me asking Education Minister for an interview to discuss the major changes she has made to Ontario’s education system. She has been “unavailable” since Aug.21. Today is also a day when students are staging a walkout to protest

A surprise promise in the Ontario Budget: A new mystery park. The government is pledging to create a new, 4-season, provincial park but it doesn't say where. Or when. Or how much it will cost.
