A Shelby County man plead guilty to child abuse and received a plea agreement during a sentencing hearing Friday, nearly six years after he was accused of putting a toddler in the dryer and turning on the dryer.

An arrest warrant was issued for a 15-year-old in connection to the deadly shooting of Birmingham man Jerrod Excell Turner last year.

The Coosa County Sheriff's Office said 31-year-old William Michael Smith was charged with the attempted murder of 33-year-old Corey Thomas Kilpatrick.

"I'm angry this has happened. All over the state people have tried to get ADEM to do what we all think they are supposed to do and repeatedly they say that's not their job."

Two people were arrested on drug trafficking charges after an attempted traffic stop led to a chase in Cullman County Tuesday.

Three people were killed and four others wounded in a shooting at a short-term rental home in an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood early Saturday morning, police said.
