Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine is one step closer to getting approved for emergency use after clearing a critical vote by an FDA advisory committee on Friday. @KCRAKathy  has more, including when we can expect an approval.

Elizabeth Duff grew up sitting in the back of Nashville, Tennessee’s segregated city buses and later became the first woman to operate them. Duff died of COVID-19 last week at age 72. @WillieGeist  remembers a #LifeWellLived .

To kick off our monthlong “Women Are Essential” series, Savannah sat down with the highest-ranking woman in uniform, Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost, to talk about her career, her unique perspective on how far women in the military have come and the work that still needs to be done.

Nearly one in six restaurants across the country has shut down over the past year, but many communities have rallied to keep their favorite spots open. @MorganRadford  reports from Baltimore, where a local restaurant is stepping up to give support where it’s needed most.
