Statement to the #dail  on #Covid_19  &economy. Responsible policies will do much of the heavy lifting in terms of what's ahead. Govt will continue to make the necessary decisions to get people back to work, to reopen businesses, &restore the public finances

Changes made today to ensure that those returning to work from maternity or adoptive leave are now covered by the Wage Subsidy Scheme. This will be dated back to 26th March. Employers should contact @RevenueIE  for further details

May Exchequer figs show that overall #COVID19  continues to have a negative impact on the public finances. However, robust corporation & income taxes go someway to offsetting impact. June income tax receipts will be important in providing clearer assessment


Very significant agreement reached in #Eurogroup . Support available for governments, employers and citizens. It took a few hours to agree, but only because this really matters. Very important step forward.

Latest job figures mark highest level of employment ever in Ireland @ 2.26m. Behind each stat is a human story; another pay packet at the end of the week, a jobseeker getting back on his/her feet. Govt will continue to pursue right policies for our people

Almost 36k employers are now registered with @RevenueIE  for the Temporary COVID-19 Wage Subsidy Scheme, with an increase of 10k in last 48 hours. I would encourage those who have not yet looked at the scheme to do so. Keeping link with employees is key
