SEC commissioner Greg Sankey: "We believe that late July will provide the best clarity for making the important decisions ahead of us."

Teaser for Wednesday's Coaches Clubhouse episodes ... with one of my all-time faves — @DavidCutcliffe ! Such a wonderful conversation about his coaching career, the Mannings, @Duke_FB  and his love of reading:

Sankey said the impact of the Big Ten's decision to go conference-only is "indirect" because no SEC-Big Ten games were scheduled for this fall.

Sankey: "I don's know that it's every conference for itself, but obviously people make decisions."

Power 5 leagues have said all along they anticipate adopting the same type/frequency of testing as one another. NCAA told me 2wks ago it has new guidelines it'll put out soon that will serve as "best practices." Why there's no national required standard:

Interesting piece from @BruceFeldmanCFB , who surveyed 20 FBS head coaches about the possibility of a spring CFB season and their thoughts on top NFL prospects skipping it:

It’s incredibly irresponsible for any reporter or media organization to speculate as to who else was on the helicopter. It’s OK to not know and report nothing. There’s NO NEED to rush to be “first” about something like this.

The Big Ten is expected to announce today that it will go with a conference-only football schedule for this fall, a person with direct knowledge situation tells @TheAthleticCFB .

NEW: NCAA president Mark Emmert was personally and specifically alerted to problems with Michigan State’s response to sexual assault cases ... back in 2010: (free for all to read)

Source tells @TheAthleticCFB  that the NCAA Division I Council has approved blanket waiver for all spring-sport athletes to get an extra year of eligibility. Schools will be able to offer less (or zero) aid or match what they provided this year. Up to each school for each athlete.

Alabama's A'Shawn Robinson says people usually think he's 35 years old when they meet him. He's 20.

Per source, NCAA sent a note to membership today saying it believes "it will be appropriate to grant relief for the use of a season for competition for student-athletes who have participated in spring sports." NCAA will start working on issues tied to this & winter athletes.

If BOWLS can skip bowl games, we can’t really get mad about players skipping them, too.

This is the most Miami of all Miami sideline shots.
