[VIDEO] Market Close: The #ASX200  commenced on a strong note and finished near session highs, adding 1.1 per cent or 76.8pts, to 7182.7. Energy stocks delivered the strongest gains and were led by an overnight rally in the oil price.

[REPORT] Week Ahead: A busy week lies ahead on the Aussie data docket with the highlight being the economic growth (GDP) figures. Overseas, the US non-farm payrolls data will dominate attention together with purchasing manager surveys from China#ausecon

The Aussie sharemarket has finished the week on a strong note, with the #ASX200  adding 1.08% or 76.8pts to 7182.7. The Consumer Staples sector was the only sector today in the red after it shed 0.02%. The Energy sector delivered the most gains today.

Today, 4bn shares were traded, worth $6.8bn. 786 stocks finished higher, 611 ended lower, while 431 closed unchanged.

[REPORT] Evening: The #ASX200  finished 1.1% higher to 7182.7. Gains were led by the Energy sector today, after it snapped a five week losing streak. Over the week, the #ASX200  climbed 0.5%.
