NEW: Stuck on a train traveling across Ukraine, I sent messages over WhatsApp to sources to see if they’d been following the impeachment investigation. Almost immediately the source I least expected to hear from wrote back. It was Konstantin Kilimnik.

On Fiona Hill's testimony, in which she said her staff thought Kilimnik was a Russian spy: “I have zero idea why she said that. Or who her ‘staff’ she is referring to is. She can say all she wants. That all Russians have two penises...to fuck themselves.”

Nozdrovska had fought for the past 2 years for a real sentence for the man who caused the death of her sister and who also happened to be the nephew of a Kyiv region judge. She had received threats. Her body was just found in a river near Kyiv. She was 38.

Kateryna Handzyuk was a fearless activist who fought against police corruption in Ukraine. Then she was attacked with acid. For the last 3 months she fought for her life from a hospital bed. Today, she succumbed to her wounds. She was 33.
