“When you have a society that's leaning towards a disrespect to science, a distortion of the truth, & then just out-and-out lying, that's really not only a threat to my field, which is the scientific enterprise, I think it's a threat to our democracy.”

Thanks to the Hate Mailer who sent me this comprehensive COVID conspiracy "map" (read: like someone puréed Alex Jone's brain and gave it to Jackson Pollack... um, too graphic?). This is from an outfit called Deep State Mapping Project. They sell t-shirt, mugs, and crystals!

Unbelievable. Do conspiracy theories cluster? Um, yep. - GMO fearmongering?✅ - Chemtrials? ✅ - Anti-fluoride? ✅ - 5G nonsense? ✅ - Antivaxx? ✅ (I mean, obviously). - Nanobots in vaccines? ✅ - Ranting about all this in a car? ✅ - ENDORSED BY THEO FLUERY? ✅

Sum: saying "quantum physics!" doesn't make bunk less bunk-y. It's #scienceploitation : "stealing and distorting concepts from science in order to produce fake scientific foundations to absurd claims." See: Quantum physics & pseudoscience

Seeing SO much revisionism about COVID public health measures. Big one: all "lockdowns" portrayed as extreme. Reality: almost every jurisdiction balanced openness & public health goals. Yes, study what worked best (more targeted). But, in general, data says needed & worked.

"Scientists are tired of explaining why #COVID19  was not made in a lab" "It's a rumour that #coronavirusust  won't die." Good example of how conspiracy theories take on a life of their own.

Immune boost? Nope. "...the idea that pills, trendy superfoods or wellness habits can provide a shortcut to a healthy immune system is a myth. In fact, the concept of 'boosting' your immune system doesn’t hold any scientific meaning whatsoever." #COVID19

"Father at centre of measles outbreak didn't vaccinate children due to autism fears" by Depressing example of the power of conspirac #vaccineswork  theories to create hesitancy. Really infuriating that this myth lives on.

So much immune boost bunk it is hard to keep up! In general, can ignore it all, especially when it comes from people selling stuff (I'm talking about you, @TomBrady !). Say no to the boost bunk from chiropractors, naturopaths, homeopaths and the #GOAT . ? #COVID19  #coronavirus
