More than 358,000 families in Central Visayas affected by typhoon Odette last year have yet to receive P5,000 cash aid, according to data from the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Region 7.

#Bopha , known in the Philippines as Typhoo #Pablo  , went down as the strongest tropical cyclone to make landfall on Mindanao. The typhoon boasted winds of 280 km/h. The area was flooded #ThisDayinWeatherHistory

The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB), through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), has distributed relief goods to more than 12,068 Bulakenyo families who were affected by Typhoons Karding and Paeng.

The United Nations’ International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the government of Japan handed over cold chain vehicles and other medical equipment to local facilities in communities affected by Typhoon Odette on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Sunday, Nov. 20, said that it has distributed 286,300 liters of clean and potable water to typhoon Paeng-hit communities in Laguna.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has spearheaded a quick response mechanism to assist the communities affected by typhoon “Paeng” last month.

A total of 600,000 liters of clean and potable water was dispensed by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to typhoon Paeng victims in Cotabato City and Maguindanao.

Nearly a decade after Typhoon Haiyan, families in the Philippines are still adjusting to relocation. The disaster left more than 7,300 people dead or missing and displaced 5 million.
