My latest is up @TexasMonthly: Evidence that high turnout (by Texas standards) helped Republicans this year doesn't seem to have curbed their zeal for ballot restrictions:

It didn’t take long for Republicans in the Texas Senate to send a clear message to local governments that they should prepare for another high-stakes battle in Austin.

Texas Republicans eye 2022 — and beyond — after romping in November election

From @WSJopinion : Democrats did what they needed to do in Texas: increase their turnout dramatically. But Republicans did even better, writes @KarlRove

U.S. Rep. Kay Granger says it’s time for Donald Trump to 'move on' as most Texas Republicans remain silent

After Republicans keep the House in political dogfight, where does Texas politics go?

Texas Democrats see the economic crisis as a reason to legalize and tax recreational marijuana use. But their chances of passing a bill are slim, as key Republicans likely stand in the way.

Texas Republicans have asked a federal judge to throw out 100,000 ballots in Harris County cast through curbside voting. They drew Judge Andrew Hanen, one of the most notoriously partisan Republican judges in the entire federal judiciary. This is alarming.

Republicans are racing to federal court because they have lost in state courts (so far). The Texas Supreme Court, which is entirely Republican, refused to halt curbside voting in October when the GOP claimed it was illegal.

Republicans have asked one of the nation's most partisan federal judges to throw out more than 117,000 ballots that were *legally cast* in Texas. This is a five-alarm fire. @Slate

We cannot let those killed in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, die in vain. Likewise for those so seriously wounded. We can never forget them, and those many who came before them. Republicans and Democrats must come together and get strong background checks, perhaps marrying....

Much of the media’s manipulated data and #FakeNews  is aimed at convincing Republicans that we MUST do what the Left WANTS us to do. For example: Shut down Texas, Georgia and Florida again. The solution is to ignore them completely, investigate the facts & make our own decisions

BREAKING: A Texas judge just sided with Trump and the Republicans to rule the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional. This endangers the health care of tens of millions of Americans, especially those with pre-existing conditions. We *must* fight back to save our health care.

Make no mistake: Republicans are responsible for the Affordable Care Act being declared unconstitutional by a Texas judge. 19 GOP Attorneys General and Trump’s White House support the lawsuit. Now tens of millions of people’s health care is at-risk. That’s the truth.

Newsflash: Texas and Florida are no longer red strongholds. The final numbers being THAT close after the gerrymandering + voter suppression? Republicans won by the skin of their teeth. They know the tide is turning. Now if only Dems knew. A lot has been gained, folks. A lot.

Did you know only two states send more Republicans to congress than California? Yup. Florida and Texas are the only two states that send more Republicans to congress than California. The only way to fix this is if all the snowflakes show up to vote. #CaliforniaCounts

Texas Republicans: if you don’t like this score you can change it tomorrow. Go vote on Tuesday & take someone else to go vote. If you’ve already voted call 2 people and get them to go vote. Let’s #KeepTexasRed . #tcot
