@TonyFratto  Only sorta trolling... Two separate issues: 1. I think a large part of the Trump trade policy in 2016 was politically transactional - How do we win the rust belt? (Though, yes, he has pushed this idea 2. And China phase 1 is pure transaction... Tariffs => China buys more.

I have just authorized a doubling of Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum with respect to Turkey as their currency, the Turkish Lira, slides rapidly downward against our very strong Dollar! Aluminum will now be 20% and Steel 50%. Our relations with Turkey are not good at this time!

The U.S. won a $7.5 Billion award from the World Trade Organization against the European Union, who has for many years treated the USA very badly on Trade due to Tariffs, Trade Barriers, and more. This case going on for years, a nice victory!

Such an easy way to avoid Tariffs? Make or produce your goods and products in the good old USA. It’s very simple!

In Washington, DC, Trump celebrated Swamp Day by: 1.) Making July 4th an ode to himself; 2.) Diverting $2.5 million in Park funds to pay for it; 3) Taking $750,000 in fireworks from a donor; and 4) Postponingtariffs on China the same day, as the donor wanted. Happy 4th!
