As the Caldor fire grows to more than 200,000 acres, one solution to keeping it from entering populated areas may be to direct it straight into the path of another blaze: the Tamarack fire.

Firefighters in California worked to contain the Tamarack Fire on Friday — as the blaze grew to about 91 square miles and crossed state lines into Nevada. Officials say the blaze was sparked by a lightning strike in the Mokelumne Wilderness on July 4.
