I think a lot of people don’t realize that Paxlovid is now very widely available in the United States — the Biden administration put in a big order, pharmacies are stocked, and doctors can prescribe it easily.

@swoasik You know, it's been a very bumpy ride and many have not come out ahead. But in a weird way, the delay could potentially help Revive because we know Paxlovid is failing and Bucillamine looks even better in retrospect. The market potential is still there.

This AM, I tested positive for COVID-19 and am currently experiencing mild symptoms. Grateful to be vaccinated & for treatments like Paxlovid. I’m following health guidelines and will be isolating while I work remotely. Wishing everyone a safe & healthy Memorial Day weekend.
Paxlovid is a virus-directed pill, highly effective independent of variants. Now a pill that is host-directed, against the TMPRSS 2 receptor, also pan #SARSCov2 , with much potential, including as a preventive Rx, @Nature today
We thought the anti-Covid pill Paxlovid (Nirmatrelvir) would be effective vs Omicron because there are few, if any, mutations in the main protease of the virus in variants. But good to see this confirmation of potency in an independent lab (not Pfizer)
FDA issued an EUA for Paxlovid for the treatment of mild-to-moderate #COVID19 in adults & pediatric patients (age 12 & older weighing at least 40 kg) w/ positive results of direct SARS-CoV-2 testing, and at high risk for progression to severe #COVID19 .
Looks like Paxlovid (and Molnupiravar) are getting FDA authorized tomorrow. It's an exciting step forward. If you're not familiar with why this is important and the issues surrounding these new anti-Covid pills, here are 2 recent essays
If Omicron turns out to have substantial immune evasiveness, the pills will add a significant layer of defense. We should get these small molecules into mass production, especially Paxlovid, with its takedown of upstream Mpro, and much higher efficacy than Molnupiravir (to date)
