I only signed the Defense Production Act to combat the Chinese Virus should we need to invoke it in a worst case scenario in the future. Hopefully there will be no need, but we are all in this TOGETHER!

I’m calling on the Federal Government to nationalize the medical supply chain. The Federal Government should immediately use the Defense Production Act to order companies to make gowns, masks and gloves. Currently, states are competing against other states for supplies.

Let’s try this again, @realDonaldTrump : Hospitals are already running out of ventilators and beds. Nurses are using bandanas as masks. If you’ve already ordered more with the Defense Production Act, tell us now. If you haven’t, you’re failing to lead and failing Americans.

Testing. Masks. Ventilators. It’s not a mystery – we need many more. The President must invoke the Defense Production Act to immediately mass produce and coordinate distribution of these vital supplies. #FamiliesFirst

The Defense Production Act is in full force, but haven’t had to use it because no one has said NO! Millions of masks coming as back up to States.

I do not understand the reluctance to use the federal Defense Production Act to manufacture ventilators. If not now, when?

The President must immediately use the powers of the Defense Production Act to mass produce and coordinate distribution of critical medical supplies & personal protective equipment. There is not a day to lose. #FamiliesFirst

Let's be clear - there is no evidence President Trump has invoked the Defense Production Act and ordered a single manufacturer to start producing masks and protective gear. This decision is unconscionable. It will allow the virus to spread. It will get people killed.

We need the federal government to use the Defense Production Act so that we can get the medical supplies we desperately need. We can’t just wait for companies to come forward with offers and hope they will. This is a national emergency.
