Fritzie Fritzshall, who survived Auschwitz Concentration Camp during the Holocaust, has died at the age of 91. She was also the president of the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Skokie.

On this day 75 years ago, Allied forces liberated the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, the scene of the most horrific mass atrocity and genocide in history. Today we must remember the lessons of those dark days and acknowledge the danger of letting hate and anti-Semitism fester.

75 years ago today, the Allies liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau. We must never forget the 6 million Jewish people murdered by the Nazis and the horrors of the Holocaust. And we must renew our resolve to confront anti-Semitism wherever it takes root. #HolocaustRemembranceDay
