“The Holocaust survivors have lit their own lights,” said Dov Forman, who wrote “Lily’s Promise” with his great-grandmother, Lily Ebert. “They shone that light on the world for so many years. Now it’s our responsibility to continue to relight that candle.”

Words can be weapons. The Holocaust didn’t start with gas chambers. It started with hate speech. Say #NoToHate  and make your social feeds a not hate zone.

When her father, a Holocaust survivor, committed suicide when she was 11, France’s new prime minister became essentially a ward of the state. “I might be the prototype of Republican meritocracy. If the Republic hadn’t been by my side, I certainly wouldn’t be here.”

Fascinating profile of France's new prime minister, the daughter of a Holocaust survivor who committed suicide when she was 11. “You have a story that leads you, in two generations, from foreigners arrested by the French police...to a prime minister" -

OPINION: How a Georgia ambassador helped unwind a Holocaust dilemma

Now available in Kindle! 20 years ago, @richardwolffedc  and I wrote a book about the battle of Holocaust survivors to retrieve money from European banks and insurance companies. At last there's an e-reader version. I hope it's stood the test of time:

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day. In 1938, Sir Nicholas Winton brought Jewish children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia to safety in the UK. Fifty years later, That’s Life reunited him with some of those children.

Why is it that Rosanne (a Jewish woman) gets canceled for off color remarks but Whoopi’s gets a total pass for antisemitism and downplaying the Holocaust? I can’t help but notice that only people on the right face consequences for their mistakes.

Whoopi Goldberg explaining that the Holocaust wasn't about race because these were "two groups of white people" isn't just insipid, it's insidious. It's downplaying the minority status of Jews in order to uphold bullshit intersectional arguments that justify anti-Semitism today.

The Mcminn County School board in Tennessee just voted to ban a Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel about the Holocaust The vote was 10-0

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the victims and survivors of one of the darkest periods in our history. But it’s not enough to remember — we also need to have the courage to speak out against acts of bigotry and hatred whenever we see them.

Trump, Obama notes left at Yad Vashem, Israel's memorial for the Holocaust. This makes me sad.
