It’s always great to be with @JohnKingCNN  on another amazing and historic day. Full reporting on the Trump impeachment coming up. Even for the two of us who have covered so many extraordinary events over the years, this one stands out.

The awful impact of the coronavirus pandemic continues. The Labor Department reports 965,000 Americans lost their jobs and filed for first time unemployment benefits last week. And there were 224,258 Covid-19 U.S. cases yesterday and 3,848 Americans died from the virus yesterday.

As we try to do every night in the @CNNSitRoom  we remembered two wonderful people who passed away from the coronavirus. May They Rest In Peace and May Their Memories Be A Blessing.

This Just In. All 50 States and DC have now officially certified their presidential election results. The @JoeBiden  national popular vote lead over @realDonaldTrump  is more than 7 million votes - 51.3% to 46.8%. Biden has 306 Electoral Votes; Trump has 232. (270 needed to win.)

Remember when @realDonaldTrump  emerged from 4 days in hospital to say: “Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life.” Tell that to 55,191 Americans who came down w/ it yesterday & the families of 961 Americans who died from Covid yesterday. Our deepest condolences.

Check out this exchange I had with then private citizen @realDonaldTrump  on Oct. 15, 2008. We spoke about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and he then offered his thoughts about impeachment.

Just to recap. In the national vote, @Joe Biden won 81,283,098 votes (51.3%) and @realDonaldTrump  won 74,222,958 votes (46.8%). All 50 States & DC certified the results. On Dec. 14, the Electoral College affirmed Biden won 306 Electoral Votes to Trump’s 232. (270 needed to win)

The U.S. Treasury Department says that the national debt has increased by $2 trillion ($2,000,000,000,000) since President Trump took office on Jan. 20, 2017. That's with Republicans in control of the House and Senate. The national debt is now almost $22 trillion.

This FBI warning is very disturbing, An internal FBI bulletin obtained by @CNN  says: "Armed protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols from 16 January through at least 20 January, and at the US Capitol from 17 January through 20 January.” Details in @CNNSitRoomSitRoom  5-7PM ET

Remember when @realDonaldTrump  warned during the campaign that your 401k's and stocks would "disintegrate and disappear" if @JoeBiden  won? Well, the Dow Jones industrial average just reached a record high of 30,000 points. And it's 3 weeks since Election Day.

At a Republican presidential debate in 2016, I asked : "If you don't get an actual check from the Mexican government for $8 billion or $10 billion or $12 billion, whatever it will cost, how are you going to make them pay for the wall?" Here's his response:
