Last week of Freeman tribunal (in this window). Could be an interesting day today with Kvetoslav Palov and Tony Cooke due to give evidence. Hearing has gone 'virtual' so will be following proceedings from a viewing gallery in London

“I’m disappointed obviously but this is the Vendée Globe. This is what it entails. I can’t rush it." Alex Thomson speaking last night after slowing to effect repairs to his boat.

"I interpreted it at the time as Mr Sutton rightly being angry. 'Why was it there?' etc But how would one know [what it was] in such a short space of time? Mr Sutton was obviously able to recognise it, according to the account given to me."

Terribly sad about Dominici. So enjoyed going out to Biarritz before RWC last year to speak to Christophe Lamaison about that match in 1999. What memories that France team gave us

Asif Kapadia film superb. Also the Emir Kusturica doc. Ending always stayed with me; Manu Chao's La Vida Tombola, Maradona's reaction (from behind the shades), the fadeout to grainy b&w footage of him as a kid heading the ball on a dusty pitch in San Telmo

Freeman hearing has adjourned part-heard. Closing submissions will be heard Jan 22 & 25-27. The tribunal anticipates that it will hand down a facts decision in writing on March 2. The tribunal will also sit March 17-19 and May 4-7.

this is good on Dubois and quitting. Yes, he quit but surely it's sthg quite different to be called "a quitter". Was uncomfortable viewing post-fight before anyone knew extent of damage

One for my cycling followers. Spoke with Rod Ellingworth this week as he started life at McLaren/Bahrain-Merida. Has brought in Roger Hammond & Tim Harris to assist him. On why he left Sky and being the main man  via @TelegraphSport

Appears Froome knocked off his bike by gendarme on way down from summit after finish (team buses were further down mountain). Police officer didn't realise it was him. Mistook him for fan. He didn't realise it was a police officer. Team say he's unhurt.
