NEWS - Investigation by the NYT team looking at Trump's finances. "Donald J. Trump paid $750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency. In his first year in the White House, he paid another $750."

He’s broke. And facing criminal charges. That’s why @realDonaldTrump  is sabotaging the mail, welcoming foreign interference, and inciting violence to win an election. This is going to be a rocky ride — but civic participation and unity are our antidotes.

“Trump paid $750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency. In his first year in the WH, he paid another $750. He had paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years — largely because he reported losing much more money than he made”

$750. Seven hundred fifty dollars. SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS. That’s why he hid his tax returns. Because the whole time, he wasn’t paying taxes. But you were. Plumbers and teachers and fast food workers and accountants were (and still are) paying for his lifestyle. $750.

"in many years, Mr. Trump lost more money than nearly any other individual American taxpayer."

This may be why @realDonaldTrump  has potential legal problems. If you claim massive losses to avoid paying federal income taxes but inflate your revenues and assets on bank documents for loan purposes, wouldn’t that constitute fraud?

"Also hanging over him is a decade-long audit battle with the Internal Revenue Service over the legitimacy of a $72.9 million tax refund that he claimed, and received, after declaring huge losses. An adverse ruling could cost him more than $100 million."

Trump appears to have avoided some taxes by paying Ivanka Trump, a Trump org executive, as a “consultant” for projects she was helping run as a corporate officer.

Trump denies he’s only paid hundreds of dollars in taxes as reported in NYT, going on to repeat his excuse for why he doesn’t release his tax returns to public: “they’re under audit.”

Trump just told reporters he wasn’t contacted for our story. His attorney is on the record in the piece >
