This is only the second time CA has asked a panel of citizens (civically minded but not political operatives) to draw maps that have huge implications on policy & politics in CA for a decade. The final 6 commissioners must be chosen by Aug. 15. -30-

So clearly a variety of people feel last night’s illegal fireworks in their communities were more present than years past, points well taken. That said, linkage to some political message for the state’s elected officials seems... dare I say it... a dud. 😕

@RichardGrenell  Eager to see these examples of fearful coverage you cite. As for lack of an opposition party (your assessment, not mine) that seems like something you could seek to remedy now that you're back in CA.

New: @Gavin Newsom points finger at federal court appointed prison health receiver for why prisoners were transferred this spring out of Chino prison, subsequently spreading virus to places like San Quentin. "They should not have been transferred," Newsom says in midday briefing.

Was off the grid for a little more than a day taking my kids for an overnight at @LassenNPS . Simply gorgeous. COVID-19 reality: only real non-mask folks you’d meet on the trail were younger than me, many in group setting. Older and family hikers all masked up when paths crossed.
