effort. Today I chaired a meeting with @MonaFortier , @bankofcanada Governor, and provincial and territorial Finance Ministers to discuss the current state of the economy and how to build back a stronger, more inclusive country for everyone.

Tonight, Canada and the United States reached an agreement, alongside Mexico, on a new and modern trade agreement, called the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement#USMCA ). Read the statement:
Canada condemns Russian aggression towards #Ukraine in the #KerchStrait . We call on #Russia to immediately de-escalate, release the captured vessels, and allow for freedom of passage. Canada is unwavering in its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.
It is both an honour and a privilege to be named Canada’s first female Minister of Finance. I am eager to continue our govts work of helping s from coast to coast to coast get back on their feet. Together, we will ensure Canada’s economy bounces back from these difficult times.
