I take this issue of disability inclusion extremely seriously. Securing equal rights for persons with disabilities is enshrined in the values of the @UN  Charter and a core promise of the #GlobalGoals:  to leave no one behind.

Violence against women & girls is a global emergency requiring urgent action at all levels, in all spaces & by all people. On Wednesday's International Day to End Violence against Women I reiterate my appeal to end this shadow pandemic once & for all. #16Days

I’m following with grave concern the violent attacks of terror in Vienna, one of our UN HQ. I condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms and reaffirm the @UN's  solidarity with the people & Government of Austria.

The time of fossil fuel subsidies is over. Coal must be phased out. Carbon should be given a price. 2021 must be the year of a great leap towards carbon neutrality.

More than one quarter of the global population still lack basic sanitation. This is unacceptable - from a moral, economic & health standpoint. We must ensure everyone, everywhere has access to safe & hygienic sanitation services that provide privacy and dignity. #WorldToiletDay

As the @UN  turns 75, the question of Palestine remains distressingly unresolved. On #PalestineDay,  let's renew our commitment to the Palestinian people in their quest to achieve their rights and build a future of peace, dignity, justice and security.

Ending violence against women requires more than just intervening once it has happened. Prevention measures should be prioritized, including addressing social norms & power imbalances. Police & judicial systems must increase accountability for perpetrators & end impunity. #16Days
