Joe Biden has less money in his campaign account than the leading Democratic Senate candidate in Arizona

(Mark Kelly is a very strong fundraiser and he does not have a competitive primary, and he's also a case study in how it's entirely possible for Democrats with the right message and bio, in the right race, to raise a ton of money online without running way to the left)

@steveschale  Nope, it's obviously not apples to apples. But Kelly's also not a former two-term vice president with a political network built over decades who entered a national race as a clear frontrunner with a solid polling lead over a president Dem fundraisers and small donors hate.

"He’s tired of having to help organize gubernatorial-driven conferences about signaling and technology, which distract him from his job of improving subway and bus service"

Gabbard has said she won’t run third party, but if she were inclined to change her mind it’s not hard to see how Clinton’s comments could become a pretext

@PoliticsWolf  @rickhasenAny  candidate who makes a distinction between running as an independent and running third-party would be being extremely disingenuous

“There are republican dissidents who would like to exploit the chaos of Brexit and use it as an excuse to take up an armed struggle, but at this rate unification will happen before it even gets to that point“

In the end, the president's closing message – that his attorney general is terrible – couldn't put the bill over the top

Wow: county clerk pointing a finger at Kobach, who is both candidate and election administrator, in a big vote-tabulation discrepancy >

Imagine the conclusions you’d draw about another country & its president, if you read that bombs had been mailed to a list of that president’s favorite political targets, including a news organization, and that president had soon after called news media the “enemy of the people”

"I will not write another check unless they all support a ban on assault weapons" Bush family stalwart, who has given millions & millions to GOP, says he will "email every single donor I know" to drum up support for new gun laws >>

That Fox doesn’t push back on this, and shows no sign of discomfort at being treated as the president’s pet network, tells you all you need to know

One thing about firing a person ... it means you can’t control them “Mr. McCabe promptly declared that his firing, and Mr. Trump’s persistent needling, were intended to undermine the special counsel’s investigation in which he is a potential witness.”

It took an extraordinarily unsuccessful series of choices, by Republican leaders, to make the Alabama race competitive even *before* the Moore scandal. Let’s review them in choose-your-adventure form.
