#HS2  contractors are now carrying out bat surveys at Jones’ Hill Wood. Not only is it the wrong time of year to carry out surveys as bats are likely to be hibernating, but high-intensity security lighting has been installed which have the potential to disturb bat roosts.

Preparation work for #HS2  is happening right now, destroying swathes of England’s #AncientWoodland . Ancient woodland is our most precious natural habitat. It cannot be moved. It cannot be replaced. This destruction cannot be allowed to go ahead. Act now:

A single 400-year-old ancient #oak  produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year, and may support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen #WednesdayWisdom
