Have known @coachthorpe  for a very long time, but somehow only learned today that he is layering fruit by color in his sangria. We have a lot to be thankful for.

People think these rankings are trolling/hating/joking/uninformed. It's none of that, and it's discussed in more detail here with @coachthorpe  and @jshector

Important work by @louisahthomas  on college football and COVID. Researchers simulated the effect of re-opening college football on the spread of COVID in a college town, in some scenarios it led to an 800 percent increase.

In reality, evidence of transmission at games is hard to come by, it may be that being outdoors with masks on makes it safer than the model predicted. But the activity around the game includes restaurants, bars, tailgating and the like.

What did #Raptors  do to get in @coachthorpe 's top five? They were good last year. Everyone on the roster but Kyle Lowry and Aron Baynes is 27 or younger. Pascal Siakam will be driven to avenge the bubble. And Tampa (Thorpe says Florida has magical powers).

"Afterward, the university’s president, who had contracted the virus after attending a gathering at the White House for Justice Amy Coney Barrett without wearing a mask, admonished the students, in a letter, for their poor decision-making."

Draft experts were a little hysterical with predictions in October. That's when @coachthorpe  wrote "this is a one player draft." Steve Kerr to : "I can tell you with @ringerut  hesitation, James was the top guy all along.”

They said it would never happen: @coachthorpe  has been accused of anti-Florida bias.

Final minute of Game 7. One point game. Two of the savviest players in history, Chris Paul and James Harden, both bet on the same move: the flop.

"Do I get to speak now? It's been like ten minutes." Working with Bill Simmons.

"This is why mother's don't sleep." Vanessa Bryant's nightmare.

Basketball Twitter you are entirely over the top, hyperbolic and possibly drunk. And I thank you for it from the bottom of my heart.

Rob Pelinka tells a story about Kobe Bryant seeing "The Dark Knight," later picking HeathLedger's brain over dinner. @Baxter : "The Dark Knight" was released six months after Ledger died. A source with direct knowledge said ... no dinner ever took place.

Kyle Lowry is not as tall as Jimmy Fallon. He has short arms, middling athleticism, and when he started his NBA career he scored as many fouls as buckets. And he effects his team about as much as LeBron. FREE FOR ALL

Steve Kerr: "It's like, 'You've got to be kidding me.' It just has to stop. ... I don't know if it's related to five straight seasons of playing 100-plus games and all the wear and tear, but it's, it's devastating." The science says the schedule is a problem. The cost is absurd.

How much do you know about the family history of Tilman Fertitta, governor of the Houston Rockets?
