In social circles where people go around denouncing racism to one another constantly, it becomes almost impossible for anyone to recognize how they, themselves, perpetuate systemic inequality, says @Musa_alGharbi  for @PublicSeminar  @NSSRNews :

The unjust killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many named and unnamed others have caused profound grief, pain, and anger across our community. President@dwightamcbride  released a statement today:

The New School condemns racism and all of its life altering and deadly consequences. Our University will not tolerate racism within our community and will work to eradicate it through the power of our academic and institutional mission and reach.

We recognize the limitations and inequities that have been laid bare within our society and in our institution by the COVID-19 pandemic, the impact of these continued tragic events involving Black lives and law enforcement, and even our own internal campus climate assessment.

Nonetheless, The New School is committed to being a supportive, safe, welcoming, and inclusive community for all who chose to work, study, learn, create, and lead change here.
