The only folks in our country who don’t think health care costs are too high are the corporations profiting from those prices. The President’s Build Back Better plan would expand Medicare and lower drug costs. We’ve got to get it done.

Voter suppression and voter intimidation are poisonous to our democracy. Luckily, we have an antidote: The #FreedomToVote  Act, which will preserve a health democracy for future generations. We must get this done.

Great to meet with Oregon members of the USA Pavilion Youth Ambassador cohort who stopped in D.C. on their way to Expo 2020 in Dubai. These student ambassadors made it through a competitive, nationwide application process to be selected for this cohort. Making Oregon proud!

With the Census completed, time is ticking to pass the #FreedomToVoteAct  and prevent sinister partisan gerrymandering that stops targeted voters from having their voices heard. Every American has the right to cast a meaningful vote—that’s what we’re fighting for.

Title 42—expelling refugees before they have their asylum claims evaluated as a response to COVID—makes no logical sense now that we have tools to address the risk: tests, vaccinations, and quarantine. @PresElectBiden : end Title 42.

We need to pass the #FreedomToVoteAct  to defend access to the ballot box, stop billionaires from buying elections, and end partisan gerrymandering that undercuts equal representation. 50 Senators back it—we need to get it done.

Brutal heat waves can be lethal to farmworkers and others who work outdoors. Thank you to the White House for enacting through a rule the substance of my bill requiring workplace heat safety standards. This will save lives.

No one should have to worry about jumping through bureaucratic hoops to rebuild in the wake of a disaster. I will continue to work with FEMA to make sure Oregonians can easily access the resources they need to rebuild and cope with our changing climate.

Authoritarian governments, not democratic republics, send unmarked authorities after protesters. These Trump/Barr tactics designed to eliminate any accountability are absolutely unacceptable in America, and must end.

Electoral college ballots rescued from the Senate floor. If our capable floor staff hadn’t grabbed them, they would have been burned by the mob.

I was barred entry. Asked repeatedly to speak to a supervisor—he finally came out and said he can’t tell us anything. Police were called on us. Children should never be ripped from their families & held in secretive detention centers. RT if you agree this is WRONG.

@realDonaldTrump : Get your DHS lackey and uninvited paramilitary actions out of my state. Our communities are not a stage for your twisted reelection campaign.

Summary of our letter to Barr and Wolf: Your authoritarian police state is not welcome here. Get out of Oregon.

Attorney General Barr lied to Congress and used the Department of Justice to intervene in criminal proceedings against the President's political flunky. I demand his resignation. RT if you agree.

This picture really troubles me. Armed forces in the nation’s capital, appearing to have been stripped of all badges and name tags—making them totally unaccountable to the people—is something I’d expect to see from a dictatorship, not a democracy.

The 13th Amendment outlawed slavery—with one big caveat: “except as a punishment for a crime.” For a century and half, that’s been used to re-enslave American citizens (disproportionately black men). So I’m introducing a Constitutional amendment to end this abomination.
