Judith Resnik, one of NASA’s first 6 female astronauts, was born #OTD  in 1949. Resnik, an electrical engineer, is shown aboard shuttle Discovery in 1984. She was among 7 crew members killed in the Challenger disaster in 1986. #NASAwomen  #WomenInSTEM

We are saddened to hear of the death of astrophysicist Margaret Burbidge, who made landmark discoveries about the cosmos while blazing trails for #WomenInScience . Burbidge, a native of England, taught for many years @UCSanDiego . She was 100. #WomenInSTEM
