The Countess later met British soldiers deployed to @NATO_KFOR force helping to support and maintain peace in the country. HRH discussed the importance of women being part of the peacekeeping efforts and processes, now and in the future.
The Duchess then attended a performance and tea party for Poetry Together, an initiative that encourages schools to link with care homes - bringing people of all ages together to learn a poem by heart. 200 schools and elderly groups, from across the UK, have been involved so far.
The role of Children’s Laureate is awarded once every two years to a writer or illustrator of children’s books to celebrate outstanding achievement in their field. The Children’s Laureate role is managed by charity @Booktrust , of which HRH has been Patron since 2011.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were introduced to the newborn son of The Duke & Duchess of Sussex at Windsor Castle. Ms Doria Ragland was also present. The Duke & Duchess of Sussex are delighted to announce that they have named their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
