PPB Investigating Substantial Damage to Iconic Elk Statue and Park Bathrooms (Photo)

A riot has been declared in the area of the Federal Courthouse and Justice Center. You must leave the area now by moving to the south and the west. CS gas and other crowd control munitions may be deployed. Leave the area now.

There is criminal activity in this crowd to include throwing of fireworks and projectiles. You must cease these illegal actions immediately. Move out of the area now.

Officers are disengaging. Do not follow officers. If you do, you will be subject to force.


There is a fire near the 800 block of SW 3rd Avenue. We are advising the crowd to get out of the street so @PDXFire  can respond. Please stop throwing projectiles at officers who are trying to assist with this operation.

More violence is occurring. This is a civil disturbance and unlawful assembly. The park is now closed. Officers are getting hit with slingshot rounds. Leave now.

More items recovered that were thrown at officers: Full beverage cans, bricks, bottles, rocks, food.

We are sharing this video taken by our criminalists from last night’s demonstration when a civil disturbance and unlawful assembly occurred. It provides a perspective not usually seen or broadcast.

There is active aggression toward officers. Slingshots are launching projectiles and additional projectiles are being thrown. Members of the crowd are attempting to use bolt cutters to cut through the fence. We are messaging to stop this behavior.

Explosives, glass bottles and other projectiles are being thrown at officers.

A group continues to stay downtown in the streets. One officer was injured after being hit in the head with a large rock. Ofc. transported to hospital. Fires have been lit. A store was looted. Arrests are being made. Leave the area, it is not safe.

The event on the 1800 block of N. Lombard has been declared a riot. Disperse immediately. If you do not disperse to the east you are subject to arrest or use of force, to include crowd control munitions.
