Today is the anniversary of the Oct 05, 2010 hailstorm that impacted the Phoenix metro area. Hailstones as large as 3" fell. The storm caused more than $2.7 billion in property damage. #azwx 

WRO East: Storms today will be confined to the high terrain. Outflows from distant storms likely in lower deserts, but not as strong as yesterday. Storm chances will favor the high terrain through early next week. A few of those days, the lower deserts will have chances. #azwx

WRO West: Storm chances return this weekend. Otherwise, storm activity is anticipated to remain east of the area. High temperatures will remain a few degrees above normal through Thursday before a cooling trend leads to highs in the low 90s over the weekend. #azwx  #cawx

The recently ended 2022 #Phoenix  Water Year was the 8th driest water year since 1991 with 4.63" of rain. It was also was the 2nd driest in the last 5 years, and was less than both the 5-year and period of record averages show below. Many Phx neighborhoods did better though. #AZWX

The bats on radar last evening in #Phoenix  was not a rare occurrence. We actually detect them most evenings through the summer. Here they are emerging again this evening, as pulses of higher returns in greens and yellows, at almost the exact same time as yesterday. #azwx
