The high so far today at PHX Sky Harbor Airport has been 102 degrees (currently 102). If you were thinking it must be much cooler in coastal California, places there exceeded 100 degrees. In fact, Anaheim reached 104 today. #azwx  #cawx

If you have been out and about in Arizona lately you have probably noticed things are a lot greener after the recent rains. This satellite product, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), really shows the green-up across AZ from the beginning of the monsoon to now. #azwx 

#Phoenix Sky Harbor has already hit at least 115°F for their high temperature again today for the 5th day in a row. This sets a new record for consecutive 115°F days in #Phoenix  dating back to August 1895. Stay hydrated and monitor kids, elders, and pets for heat impacts! #azwx

The high today in Phoenix reached 113°F. Would you believe us if we told you there was a location over 1,200 mile north of here that was hotter? Lytton, B.C. broke the Canadian record high set in 1937 with a high of 46.6°C (116°F) today. Here are other warm spots. #azwx  #cawx

Phoenix had an unprecedented 53 days of 110° of greater. Even though our annual trend is increasing, this was well out of bounds. However based on how our climate is changing & long term climate modeling, 50 days may become closer to the normal number in 20-40 years.
