First Murdoch kills 50+ local Queensland newspapers. Then he plasters what’s left with identical election campaign propaganda for the LNP. Today the same story splashed across papers in Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. #CancerOnDemocracy

Another example of emerging Liberal bias from @ItaButtrose’s ABC. Child protection is far too serious a matter to run a one-sided, primetime, 10-minute infomercial starring the Shadow Minister. @abcnews  must answer how this meets their legal requirement of political impartiality.

The World Health Organisation may not be perfect, but it is already desperately underfunded. America’s withdrawal would have enormous consequences for vulnerable people, especially in developing countries.

All Australians should be standing in complete solidarity with the good people of Melbourne at what is a really difficult time for them all. Victoria is not unique. Second wave COVID19 is a worldwide risk for all.

QLD Premier@AnnastaciaMP  has been attacked by LNP leader Frecklington, Dutton, Berejiklian, Hanson and, of course, Murdoch over border rules. Instead Annastacia backed the Chief Health Officer’s caution. Given the 2nd wave in Victoria, will this mob just admit they got it wrong?

My remarks to a Peking University forum on the future US-China relationship. I argued the US, Western and Asian democracies cannot accept Hong Kong's National Security Law on the grounds of Chinese national sovereignty. The reaction will only intensify.

I see @AlanTudgeMP  will be appearing on #Insiders  this Sunday. I hope he uses the opportunity to apologise to the vulnerable families who were hounded by the government's illegal #Robodebt  collectors.

Australia has no option but to step fully into the economic breach for our Pacific Island neighbours in current crisis. Not PR measures.Otherwise we hand the region to Beijing on a platter.Building on historic collapse in our aid & indifference on climate.

A sober reflection on the long-term health effect of catching Covid-19. It nails the “let her rip” school of thinking who argue that a 1% mortality rate is just fine. And to think there were idiots playing around with “herd immunity” only a few months ago.

The NewsCorp formula for fmr PMs: Shut up about Murdoch's abuses of power and you'll be rewarded with positive puff like Gillard and Abbott. Speak out, like Turnbull and me, and they come after you with a rolling campaign of delegitimisation. Sorry Rupert, still not interested.

So Morrison, backed by the Murdoch party are ripping into the BLM movement & protests here in Australia. Stated grounds - the public health risks of large scale protests. I notice these concerns didn’t cause Morrison to ban the Hillsong Conference when the virus first erupted.

Morrison claimed today this is the first time defence reserves have been deployed to respond to bushfires, and that federal governments haven’t previously taken a lead role in bushfire emergencies. The history of Black Saturday 2009 shows this is simply not true @David_Speers

Dutton was an MP for 7 years and was 38 when he boycotted the apology to first Australians. A grown man, experienced politician who knew what he was doing - sending a dog-whistle to racist sentiment. A question of character. For this reason alone, he should never be Prime Minister

In all the election commentary last night, not a single word on the elephant in the room: Murdoch, with 70% control of Australia’s print media, ran the single most biased campaign in Australian political history. Reason for the silence? People are in fear of Murdoch’s power.
