I will never forget this conversation I had with this French American. She told me: “I immigrated to the US from France, 20 years ago. I love NYC, but I don’t get how I pay the same tax rate in ‘capitalist’ USA as I did in ‘socialist’ France...but I get less for my tax $ here.”

Saving this one. Have heard the same exact arguments for every fraud that has gone to zero: Argument 1: “stock price, bro!” Argument 2: “they sell real products, bro!”

Given July 4th is right around the corner, I wonder how many Americans are even aware of its own history ... and how much excess taxation played a role in our independence movement from the colonizer...
