There is no room to dispute the constitutional authority President Trump has to nominate an individual to fill a Supreme Court vacancy. Likewise, the Senate can also choose to exercise its role in confirming a nominee to the nation’s highest court. (1/3)

Designation as a National Historic Trail could bring more economic opportunities to the state, and especially communities along the "Ox-Bow Route," as well as honor the pioneers who traveled it and preserve structures important to our regional and national heritage.

Pleased @DeptofDefense  has updated its policy to provide National Guard & Reserve members access to education benefits they've earned as Congress intended. This commonsense solution allows all servicemembers the same opportunities to fund their education.

Arkansas has been leading in computer science education and cyber skills. I’m proud of the efforts being made at the local and state level to prioritize this curriculum given how crucial it is to the 21st century economy and will continue my support at the federal level. #CSforAR

Speaking on the #Senate  floor re: passage of the Commander John Scott Hannon#Veterans  Mental Health Care Improvement Act, which includes my IMPROVE Well-being for Veterans measure to prevent #veteran  suicides. I encourage the House to take it up. WATCH:

I joined @ftsmithchamber  members for a discussion about important community issues and ways my office continues to provide assistance & support. There’s no substitute for sitting down together like this, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to participate despite being back in DC

@DeptVetAffairs  estimates around 20 #veterans  commit suicide each day – roughly unchanged in over a decade despite a tremendous increase in funding. I'm glad a new approach I've championed to address this crisis is one step closer to becoming a reality. The House should pass it.

Arkansas farmers/ranchers: note the deadline to apply for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) is Sept. 11, 2020. @usdafsa 's CFAP offers direct relief to producers who faced price declines and additional marketing costs due to COVID-19. More:

Todays' vote is a disappointing development. It leaves behind too many Americans in need in the name of partisanship. Democrats blocked progress on this package while also refusing to negotiate on realistic solutions that stand a chance of becoming law.

I'm pleased the Senate took this step to provide relief and support to America's workers & families in the form of free virus testing, paid sick and family leave, nutrition assistance and more as folks experience difficulties resulting from this pandemic. We have more work to do.

At yesterday's @VAChair  hearing, I pressed @DeptVetAffairsofficials  about the plan to reduce the backlog of #veteranswaiting  to undergo medical exams in order to qualify for disability compensation. I'll continue to push the VA to remedy this issue.

The #ServingARVets  tour has been a great week traveling across the state meeting with #veterans , visiting vet-owned businesses, touring VA facilities serving Arkansans and listening to voices advocating with and for our former service members. Thanks to all who participated.

I welcome @HHSGov  awarding another $2.5 million in federal coronavirus response funds to expand COVID-19 testing capacity in Arkansas, which will allow hospitals and other healthcare entities in the state to train workforces, procure supplies & equipment, and expand telemedicine.

Arkansas children struggling with hunger during this public health crisis are benefiting from creative, flexible approaches to alleviate food insecurity. READ my latest column about how to carry this momentum into the summer to help keep them hunger free.

I appreciated the opportunity to participate in today's @VAChair  hearing to conduct oversight of @DeptVetAffairsand  get an update about efforts to serve #veteransduring  the coronavirus pandemic. It's vital the VA continues to fulfill this duty on behalf of our nation's heroes.
