Saturday was the biggest day in U.S. retail history. Total sales: $34.4B

In 2019, 50+ banks unveiled plans to cut a combined 77,780 jobs...the most since 2015. European financial firms account for 63,611 (or 82%) of the layoffs. That brings total job cuts in global banking to 425,000 over the last 6 years. (h/t @business) 

Elizabeth Warren's campaign told supporters that it has raised just over $17 million in the fourth quarter (which ends in 4 days). That would represent a 30% drop from Q3. (via @schwartzbFBN  @thomaswfranck

Since November, 2 of America's biggest milk producers have filed for bankruptcy amid margin pressures, falling demand, and growing dairy-free (almond, soy, oat milk) options. The latest, Borden Dairy, was founded 163 years ago and employs around 3,200.

In 2019, the median home price in the Bay Area fell 2.3% — the first annual drop since 2011. But SF home values hit a fresh record in Q2 after a slew of local firms went public. One broker: “I had [people] who were adamant about buying before the IPOs.”
