#Iraq  and #SaudiArabia  must go forward in improving their relations. Therefore these silly distractions must be eliminated and mature statesmanship should be placed in the driver’s seat. (6)

#Iraq : National Security Director Falih al-Fayyadh was replaced by General Abdul-Ghani al-Asadi. Al-Asadi played an important role in the fight to defeat ISIS. His name was mentioned for the Minostry of Interior or Defense, but was not picked. (1)

Falih Al-Fayyadh was also replaced, as a National Security Advisor, by Qasim al-Araji, former Ministry of Interior. Al-Fayyadh is still the Director of the Popular Mobilization Commission. (2)

The Ministry of Industry is a nest of incompetence & corruption. With a couple of exceptions, its state-owned factories are either losing money or run way below capacity/standards. Meanwhile, corrupt bureaucracy & Ba’th era socialist laws are still killing the private sector. (2)

RIP @hushamalhashimi . One of the best terrorism experts and a genuinely good human being. He was shot dead in front of his house an hour ago. A great loss!! #Iraq

What’s sad to see is that members if #Iraq  ’s Council of Representatives tweet and talk about this sort of bad governance as if they are activists, not representatives elected to legislate & exercise government oversight. (2)

Just for context, the debt each of these companies owe the Government of #Iraq  is up to $500 million. It is also worth mentioning that these companies are asked for less than what the fair price should be and the service they provide is unsatisfactory by all measures. (3)

@AlbertoMiguelF5  We don't disagree on religious minorities being better off in Spain than in Iraq. That's not our topic though. Oranges to oranges, Spain's authorities are not different than the Turkish authorities in dealing with the past. & Iraqi authorities are better than both in this regard.

Today marks the 3rd. anniversary of #Mosul  liberation from ISIS terrorists. It is my second hometown, where I spent the best of my years, at the University of Mosul. Glory to all those who accomplished this victory.

@hansiescobar  Thank you my dear Hansi, for the kind note. I wrote my tweet thinking of our friend Dr. Luay @AL_Khatteeb , who sent a letter to @Pontifex  about the mistreatment of him & his family. An example of what has been done when officials like you are not present.

⭕️ BREAKING NEWS: So #Iran  apparently chose to use #Iraq  as the place of retaliation. Iran’s government hopes to fight in Iraq, not on its own soil, preferably with its Iraqi proxies, not its own forces.

#Saudi @Aramco’s idea of a hand sanitizer stand: a foreign worker from a poor country. The company apologized after a wave of criticism for its utter #racism  & disregard of human dignity. Mistreatment of forein labor in some Gulf countries is outrageously rampant.

Our prayers are for #Karrada  & its people. #Baghdad  is too precious to be left to this endless tormenting.

Those crying for building destruction, which is sad, may get perspective from this picture #Iraq 's heroes who died to make the world better.

Vicious Saudi Wahhabism: "No food, medicine, or children food is allowed in Saada#Yemen ).We enjoy tormenting them".

As I predicted, in tweet # 4 of this thread, the US Embassy is ordering IS citizens to leave #Iraq  “immediately”. Iraq will not be safe for Americans for an extended period from now. (19)

Some people want a war between the U.S. & Iran so bad, they may be willing to pay both sides to fight each other. They don’t realize that they are not buying a ticket to a boxing match. In this fight, everyone will be inside the ring. No spectators!
