The Vikings put Patrick Peterson on injured reserve and signed Blake Brandel to the active roster. Peterson was injured late in the 4th quarter at Carolina, what the team called cramps, but it looked like more of a hamstring injury.

Sam Darnold was 0-6, INT when targeting Bashaud Breeland as the nearest defender (in 32 coverage snaps). That's the most targets as the nearest defender without allowing a catch in a game this season. (h/t @NextGenStats )

Christian Darrisaw said didn't feel anything from his groin injury while playing, that it's "completely 100% healed, and the worst days are behind me. I feel great." Said that he would be ready to go if the Vikings had a Week 7 opponent.

Thielen: "I'm glad we finished that one because that would've been two plays, literally identical plays, the one was from Case Keenum, bounced off my chest and dropped a touchdown, but glad we finished that one."

Sounds like Peterson will be designated for return off injured reserve, where he has to stay for a minimum of 3 games, at some point. Zimmer: "We don’t believe it’s season ending."

Everson Griffen was involved in a car accident on his way into the practice facility on Thursday. Mike Zimmer said the DE swerved to miss a deer in the road. It’s why he showed up on the injury report with a concussion.

Zimmer asked why the team released Daniel Carlson "Did you see the game?" Was it an easy decision? "Yep, very easy."

Today, the Houston Texans traded DeAndre Hopkins for a $10 million of David Johnson's salary, a 2nd and a 4th. The Vikings traded an on-par receiver in Stefon Diggs and got four picks, including a first rounder. Let that sink in.

Cool little tidbit from Elias: Vikings-Bengals was the first regular-season game in NFL history with a game-tying score with 0:00 left in 4th quarter and a game-winning score with 0:00 left in OT.

Per source, Dalvin Cook had an unexpected family emergency come up on Tuesday and had to return to Miami. He will be unavailable to play in Sunday's finale vs. Detroit.

The Vikings were eyeing Justin Fields and the way the board was falling, they thought they were going to have him. A look at how a move that would’ve altered the course at QB played out and how Minnesota changed course w/ Kellen Mond.
