It's NBA schedule time. The biggest change (besides it being 72 games instead of 82): Some teams will go to a city and play there twice before moving on. Story to come. Let me read this first.

I count 56 first-half instances of a team going to a city and playing there twice before moving on, 13 of those being back to backs, the other 43 with an off day in between.

Also notable: No Lakers at Washington on the first half schedule. So the Lakers, if they're so inclined, wouldn't go see President Biden at the White House for the customary championship reception until sometime mid-March through mid-May.

Dec. 24 is the only day off on the first half slate. And the Spurs' rodeo road trip lives on.

Doubling up: Some NBA teams to stay longer in road cities

We live in a world where football coaches get $10 million as a failure bonus and fifth-grade teachers are buying their own staplers.

If Dwyane Wade came back next season, played all 82 games and scored zero points in every one, he'd still have a higher career scoring average than Paul Pierce.

So let me tell you about the time the Miami Heat lost the first two games of the NBA Finals and a guy from Marquette ...
