Important to recall that from a security standpoint, the Soleimani killing backfired. Iran supercharged their nuclear research, increased attacks on our troops, and maintained support for proxies (Hezbollah briefly took over the Lebanese gov in 2020!).

Something that I think is sometimes missed on Covid Twitter is that in the absence of coordinated financial aid and closure orders, the people dining indoors conceive of themselves as altruistically helping local businesses during a time of widespread fear.

Now obviously what we *should* do is ban indoor maskless activity, give bars & restaurants zero-interest loans, and look forward to vaccinations which are starting in just *weeks* But that’s not the world we have
