BREAKING: Former Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh has died at age 46. A statement from DTP Companies said he died on Friday peacefully and surrounded by family.

Before his death, Zappos co-founder Tony Hsieh became fixated on what his body could do without, a friend said. He starved himself of food and oxygen. “Things were falling apart for him.”

Tony Hsieh, former CEO of Las Vegas-based online shoe retailer who spent years working to transform the city's downtown area, has died at 46. “The world has lost a tremendous visionary and an incredible human being,” Zappos said.
