"Mr. Hawley, a graduate of Yale Law School, must know that his claim is specious: The First Amendment prohibits the government from muzzling speech; private entities, like publishing houses, have no such restraints." #NYTLetters

Sen. Hawley claims that he voted to overturn the election because he wouldn't "bow to a lawless mob" (he did exactly what the mob demanded!) and because these were the concerns of his constituents (because he and the president lied to them for months). LOL, Yale Law School.

Senator Hawley went to Yale Law School. He knows damn well that a private company's decision to cancel publication of his book has NOTHING to do with the First Amendment. C'mon Republicans! We have to have a deeper commitment to facts. Remember what @MittRomney  last night.

@JoeConason  @dlonorseY  @HawleyMOo  @SimonBooksu  think we need to shut down Yale Law School while we figure out what is going on in their ConLaw classes?

@HawleyMO  @simonschusterFirst  Amendment purported to impose on a private corporation a requirement to publish a senator's book? We need to shut down Yale Law School, while we figure out what þe hell is going on in ConLaw classes þere... Help, ! @Popehat  Help : @steve_vladeck  you are our only hope!

@mikedebonis  @SenBraunINAnd  @RonJohnsonWI  @HawleyMOi  @tedcruzt  bears mentioning: is a @HawleyMOgraduate  of Yale Law School. is a @tedcruzgraduate  of Harvard Law School. Those institutions should weigh in on what these grads learned.

In other words, $10,000 worth of forgiveness would be a game-changer for a community college graduate but it genuinely doesn't do that much for you if you followed up your Brandeis education with a Yale Law School degree and then sociology grad school at Harvard.
