One year ago, today, a white supremacist gunman shot and killed 23 people in a Walmart in El Paso. The massacre is considered to be the deadliest anti-Latino attack in modern U.S. history.

Today is the one year anniversary of the El Paso Walmart mass shooting, a senseless act of white nationalist terrorism. I'm keeping victims, their families and the whole El Paso community in my heart. We must work together to end hate and violence.

The reality of living in the U.S. today is that you could be gunned down in any Wal-Mart, food festival, or movie theater by a 19 year-old white supremacist with an AK-47 and the President would continue golfing and wouldn't care enough to know where it happened anyway.
