The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is searching for volunteers to help monitor visitor patterns in some of the more population park stops in both North Carolina and Tennessee.

Snow showers will fill in tonight and Saturday with accumulating snow across the plateau, mountains, northeast Tennessee, and southwest Virginia. Light or no accumulations are forecast across the central and southern valley. Check road conditions before traveling!

The best chance for snow accumulation will be in the mountains of northeastern Georgia, eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina late Monday into Monday night:

Lots of uncertainty with regard to snow amounts late tonight and Friday. The heaviest snow is likely to occur in the mountains with lower confidence in snow amounts across the Tennessee Valley. For more info: #mrxwx 

The mountains in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee are forecast to pick up 6-12 inches of snow with an AccuWeather Local StormMax of 18 inches over the peaks from Thursday to Friday:
