In under a week, we saw the murders of two African Americans in Kentucky, the anti-Semitic mass shooting in a Pittsburgh synagogue, and mail bombs targeted to political opponents—all tied together by hatred & bigotry that must be defeated. We as a nation must unite against hate.

It's been 12 days since the mass shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue and a few hours since Thousand Oaks. No one should have to live in fear that their community will be the next one struck by gun violence. This isn't normal. Congress' inaction is costing lives. #GunControlNow 

They were in synagogue for a religious baby naming ceremony, a Jewish tradition. What occasion could be more joyous? Until a maniac with an AR-15 and and arsenal of handguns started shooting. God bless the victims and the heroic 1st responders. And save our country from hate.

You might be thinking: "Damn, this morning's mass shooting in the LA bar is pretty damn close to our last mass shooting, the one in the Pittsburgh synagogue." In fact, there were 11 mass shootings (four or more victims) in between.

My thoughts are with everyone affected by this morning’s horrific shooting at The Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. We can and must put a stop to this violence and this hate. It should have no home in America.
