Treasury Secretary Mnuchin says Speaker Pelosi is still “dug in” and significant differences remain in stimulus talks

If House Speaker Pelosi “wants to compromise, there will be a deal,” Treasury Sec. Mnuchin says on stimulus talks. “We’ve made lots of progress in lots of areas but there’s still some significant differences that we’re working through.”

Sec. Mnuchin “and I continue our conversation. We’re about pretty soon ready to put pen to paper,” Speaker Pelosi says on coronavirus relief deal. “We have other issues that we have to deal with, but we’re on a good path.”

Speaker Pelosi says she and Treasury Secretary Mnuchin are “just about there” on a deal for a coronavirus relief package even as there are outstanding differences still being negotiated.

I applaud Sec. Mnuchin and the Administration for engaging in bipartisan talks with Speaker Pelosi. Following the billions in health funding we approved last week, the Senate is ready and eager to consider bipartisan policies to mitigate the economic impact of the coronavirus.
