Some of the largest U.S. employers say they won’t stop collecting employees’ Social Security payroll taxes, despite President Trump’s deferral offer

Of course, how exactly and when the benefits will be designed and whether it will suffice to provide meaningful social security cover to all workers will hinge on the specific schemes to be rolled out.

When we win I, as your President, will totally forgive ALL deferred payroll taxes with money from the General Fund. I will ALWAYS protect Seniors and your Social Security! Sleepy Joe Biden will do the opposite, he will raise your taxes and DESTROY our Country!

Everyone depends on the USPS. Seniors for their Social Security, veterans for their prescriptions, small businesses trying to keep their doors open. They can't be collateral damage for an administration more concerned with suppressing the vote than suppressing a virus.

Socialism is a scare word they've hurled at every advance the people have made. Socialism is what they called public power, social security, deposit insurance, and independent labor organizations. Socialism is their name for anything that helps all people. —Harry Truman, 1952

Today, Trump announced that if he is re-elected he will permanently defund Social Security. That may make sense to the billionaires at his country club, but it makes zero sense to me. No, Mr. President. We will not let you destroy Social Security. We will defeat you – badly.

85 years ago today Social Security was signed into law, but just last week Trump said he’ll defund Social Security if reelected. The choice in November is clear: we must elect @JoeBiden  to strengthen and expand Social Security so our seniors can retire with dignity.

Trump just promised that if he wins reelection he'll gut Social Security and Medicare. A vote for @JoeBiden  in November means protecting and expanding these benefits—ensuring our seniors have the ability to retire with dignity.

Trump’s executive orders from the golf club: Cut unemployment benefits for millions. Reduce funding for Social Security and Medicare. Do nothing to treat the virus, open schools, or help people vote. What’s next for Trump while millions of Americans suffer? The back nine.

I will protect your Social Security and Medicare, just as I have for the past 3 years. Sleepy Joe Biden will destroy both in very short order, and he won’t even know he’s doing it!

I must say, that was a VERY boring debate. Biden lied when he said I want to cut Social Security and Medicare. That’s what they ALL said 4 years ago, and nothing happened, in fact, I saved Social Security and Medicare. I will not be cutting, but they will. Be careful!

Get real, Joe. One of us has a history of not only fighting cuts to Social Security but working to expand benefits. And that’s why we are the campaign best positioned to defeat Donald Trump.
