#49ers announce they have signed OL William Sweet to a 1-year deal. Another name to add to the mix after Shon Coleman and Jake Brendel opted out.

The #49ers  signed OL Spencer Long on Saturday, according to his agent. His addition helps compensate for the losses of opt-outs Shon Coleman and Jake Brendel. READ:

49ers' offensive tackle Shon Coleman, a cancer survivor who was diagnosed with leukemia at 18, has opted out of the season due to concerns about the coronavirus pandemic, the NFL Network reported.

The #49ers  announce OL Jake Brendel (UCLA) has opted out. The club also confirms Shon Coleman opted out.

I’m not entirely sure why #49ers  OLs Shon Coleman and Jake Brendel were not reported as opt-outs on today’s NFL wire. I don’t know if there are players on other teams who weren’t included, too. But, right now, that brings the total to 67 players across the league who opted out.

Certainly understandable why #49ers  OT Shon Coleman elected to opt out for 2020. A bit less depth there but Niners have plenty of in-house OT options behind Mike McGlinchey and Trent Williams. Justin Skule, Daniel Brunskill and rookie Colton McKivitz chief among them.
