Brent and Shireen were BOTH Americans. BOTH were killed while working on assignment. Yet for The NY Times Brent was “killed” and Shireen “dies”. Shireen was stripped of her American identity. Where she was killed is not even mentioned. Her age is irrelevant. Utterly Shameful.

Israeli forces killed a Palestinian American Al Jazeera journalist who was wearing a press vest in the occupied West Bank. Shireen Abu Akleh was 51. Israeli soldiers shot her in the head during raids in Jenin, say other journalists: "They killed her in cold blood."

I am shocked to hear of the death of Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was shot by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. This appalling killing must be investigated and justice sought for her family.

The attack by Israeli forces against mourners at the funeral of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh is an outrage. The United States must condemn this, and demand an independent investigation into her killing.
